They can be worn alone or together, united by their pure lines, exact proportions, identical oval shape, and exquisite details. The iconic screws, with their graphic radicalism, are a shared signature.

Created in New York in 1969 by Cartier designer Aldo Cipullo, the LOVE bracelet consists of two flat, rigid arcs that are assembled and screwed together with the help of another person and a special screwdriver. Aldo Cipullo, inspired by his own experiences with love and heartbreak, created the Love Bracelet with this unique locking mechanism. Unlike traditional bracelets that can be easily slipped on and off, the Love Bracelet requires a special screwdriver to open and close it. This design symbolizes a committed relationship, as it can only be put on or removed with the help of another person.

Over the years, Cartier has introduced several notable iterations of the Love Bracelet. The initial designs were available in 18k yellow gold and later expanded to include 18k white gold and 18k rose gold. LAter, in 1979, Cartier introduced versions of the Love Bracelet adorned with diamonds, adding an extra layer of luxury and sparkle. Although now discontinued, platinum versions of the Love Bracelet were once available, offering a more durable and prestigious option. In recent years, a thinner version of the Love Bracelet was introduced, featuring a hinge and a single screw for a more delicate look. In 2006, Cartier launched the Love Charity Bracelet, which features a silk cord and a golden ring bearing the word “LOVE.” A portion of the proceeds from each sale is donated to various charities.

Looking for more independence? All versions of the LOVE bracelet now come with a functional screw and a hinge so you can put it on and take it off by yourself. This locking system, previously featured on the small model, is now available on both the medium and classic models. The original locking system remains an option for the classic version.
