Panerai presents the new Submersible GMT PAM01495
Panerai remains unwavering in its mission to enhance performance while honoring its heritage, now presenting a new model within the Submersible line. Firmly anchored in its history of crafting instruments for the Italian Navy—where reliability was essential—Panerai continues to create watches in which every detail serves a clear and purposeful function: delivering exceptional performance in any environment. This philosophy is fully reflected in the new Submersible GMT PAM01495, engineered to conquer the depths. The striking timepiece pairs the advanced P.4001/S calibre with a cutting‑edge 47 mm DMLS titanium case, showcasing a fully skeletonized movement and 50 bar (~500 meters) of water resistance—an expression of Panerai’s drive to push technical limits while staying true to its tool‑watch roots.
“The Submersible GMT PAM01495, with its state‑of‑the‑art technical features, is the direct outcome of the tireless innovation and forward‑thinking research carried out by our R&D team in Neuchâtel. This 47 mm DMLS titanium case embodies the core pillars of our identity—water resistance, power reserve, durability, and outstanding luminosity—continuously refined to ensure uncompromised performance. With 50 bar (~500 meters) water resistance, a unidirectional bezel for accurate dive timing, a sturdy three‑day power reserve, a practical GMT function, and a patented polarized date display, it is the ideal companion for any expedition,” says Alessandro Ficarelli, Chief Marketing and Product Officer of Panerai.
The 47 mm case is crafted using Titanium DMLS (Direct Metal Laser Sintering). A pioneer in this technology, Panerai was among the earliest to introduce 3D‑printed titanium to watchmaking, filing a patent in 2012. In this new model, Titanium DMLS is paired with a skeletonized automatic movement, reinforcing the Maison’s long‑standing expertise with this distinctive material. Panerai’s work with titanium dates back to 1985 with the Mille Metri prototype—a rugged dive watch featuring a 47 mm titanium case and the signature crown‑protecting bridge. Building on this foundation, titanium officially entered the Panerai collection in 1998, and the brand has since continued to explore innovative constructions such as Titanium DMLS, new surface treatments like Titanium DLC, and expressive forms including Forged Titanium.
Constructed layer by layer from Grade 5 titanium powder, this method enables the creation of internal cavities within the case, significantly reducing weight while maintaining strength. Compared to traditional titanium cases, Titanium DMLS is roughly 25% lighter—and more than 50% lighter than steel—while offering excellent corrosion resistance, a crucial advantage in marine environments. Finished with a sandblasted texture, the Titanium DMLS case is complemented by a titanium bezel with a matte blue ceramic insert.
Powering the PAM01495 is the P.4001/S automatic calibre, a sophisticated skeletonized movement introduced in 2021, composed of 341 components and protected by two patents. Designed for both technical performance and everyday practicality, it incorporates a patented polarized date system created specifically to overcome a common limitation of openworked movements. Unlike standard opaque date discs that hide the mechanics beneath, Panerai’s polarized date remains nearly invisible across the movement, revealing the date only through the window at 3 o’clock. This preserves full visibility of the architecture while maintaining essential functionality.
The movement also features a 12‑hour GMT complication with an AM/PM indicator, allowing quick reading of a second time zone. Panerai’s focus on legibility is evident in the bright orange GMT hand, chosen for its high visibility against sea and sky, inspired by its use in maritime signaling, regattas, and diving markers. A patented GMT spring enables the local hour hand to jump in one‑hour increments, simplifying adjustments while traveling. Precision is further supported by a seconds‑reset mechanism—rooted in Panerai’s military history—which returns the seconds hand to zero when the crown is pulled, ensuring easy synchronization with a reference time.
Thanks to Panerai’s expertise in power management, the PAM01495 offers a three‑day power reserve. Energy is delivered by an off‑center micro‑rotor that preserves visibility of the movement while reducing thickness. Twin barrels provide the 72‑hour autonomy, monitored via a sapphire indicator on the case back. This placement keeps the dial clean and focused on essential timekeeping.
A distinctive grid motif further characterizes the P.4001/S, paying tribute to Panerai’s maritime heritage. Inspired by the heavy‑duty nets once used to secure ships in harbor, the pattern is reinterpreted within the skeletonized structure, revealing the mechanics while subtly honoring these historic naval tools.

The calibre is housed in a case offering 50 bar (~500 meters) of water resistance—an impressive feat for a skeletonized movement—allowing divers to push their limits. This rating is validated through Panerai’s rigorous Laboratorio di Idee testing protocol. Each component is individually inspected before assembly, and representative batches undergo extensive laboratory simulations replicating years of real‑world wear. Once assembled (without the strap), each watch undergoes multi‑stage water‑resistance testing, beginning with a vacuum test. It is then submerged in a specialized chamber at the rated pressure plus an additional 25% safety margin. Afterward, the watch is heated and cold water is applied to the sapphire crystal to detect any internal moisture. This full test—excluding the aging simulation—is performed on every single timepiece.
As a complete diving instrument, every element contributes to underwater reliability. The unidirectional bezel ensures accurate tracking of dive time, while the applied markers and hands coated with Super‑LumiNova® remain visible in low‑light conditions. The minute hand and bezel markers glow blue for instant readability of immersion time, while the remaining elements shine green. The skeletonized design keeps the movement fully visible, with indexes mounted on the rehaut to maintain clarity. The sandblasted crown‑protecting bridge, a hallmark of the Submersible line, enhances security.
The watch comes with a blue rubber strap and is presented in a premium blue cherry‑wood box, including a second black bi‑material strap.
Submersible GMT PAM01495 will be available exclusively in Panerai boutiques starting May 2026.
