The new DEFY Skyline Tourbillon Skeleton marks a new chapter for the collection, where transparency becomes structure, and mechanical complexity takes on an architectural presence.

The DEFY Skyline Tourbillon Skeleton introduces a striking evolution of the collection, transforming transparency into a defining structural element and giving mechanical intricacy a bold architectural character. As the first openworked tourbillon in the DEFY Skyline family, it showcases a fully skeletonised take on the El Primero movement, suspended within a radiant rose‑gold case whose facets play dynamically with the light.

By revealing the calibre down to its essence, the watch invites the viewer to explore a construction shaped by luminosity, depth, and equilibrium. With no traditional dial to obscure it, the watch’s internal architecture appears in its most authentic form. The movement rises at the centre like a miniature mechanical cityscape, bordered only by a slim peripheral ring that holds the hour markers and enhances the sense of three‑dimensional space. The ZENITH logo seems to float on the sapphire crystal, while the brand’s signature star is integrated directly into the skeletonised mainplate, becoming part of the mechanism’s very geometry.

At the core is the automatic El Primero 3630 SK calibre, presented in a vivid, glowing blue. Its skeletonisation incorporates the ZENITH star as a structural theme, expanded and centred around the tourbillon opening. The calibre reveals a dynamic interplay of depths, textures, and tones, animated by two architectural bridges positioned at 10 and 2 o’clock. Their stepped, angled design creates shifting contours reminiscent of modern architectural forms.

The finishing of the movement reflects a meticulous choreography of surfaces. The bridges and mainplate receive a blue PVD treatment, then are selectively polished to expose rhodium‑plated bevels that catch the light with refined brilliance. The one‑minute tourbillon beats at 5 Hz, giving the watch a vibrant, high‑frequency rhythm, while the openworked barrel provides a direct view of the mainspring as it unwinds over its 50‑hour power reserve.

Crafted entirely from rose gold, the DEFY Skyline Tourbillon Skeleton reimagines the collection’s sharp lines through the warmth of the metal. Alternating brushed and polished surfaces emphasise the geometry of the 41 mm case, creating a faceted silhouette that shifts with every movement of the wrist. The quick‑change strap system is seamlessly integrated, allowing smooth transitions between the rose‑gold bracelet and the blue rubber strap featuring a star motif and a matching gold folding clasp.

Limited to 50 pieces, the DEFY Skyline Tourbillon Skeleton is available through ZENITH boutiques, the brand’s online store, and authorised retailers worldwide.
