Developed in collaboration with its Roman partner Gioielleria GRANDE, the new SUB 200 Grande Roma features an elegant gradient dial, while its caseback is engraved with the Colosseum.

Founded in Le Locle, the heart of Swiss watchmaking, DOXA has been blending tradition and innovation since 1889. Among its many milestones, DOXA introduced in 1967 the first dive watch for the general public equipped with a unidirectional rotating bezel to calculate no-decompression limits — a major advancement for diver safety. Alongside its technical breakthroughs, the DOXA SUB became instantly recognizable thanks to its orange dial. Today, Montres DOXA SA remains faithful to the principle it established over 130 years ago: creating high-quality watches at accessible prices.

For the first time in its history, DOXA introduces in 2026 a SUB special series dedicated to Italy. Created in partnership with its long-standing Roman retailer, Gioielleria GRANDE, the SUB 200 Grande Roma stands out with a sophisticated gradient dial and a caseback engraved with the Colosseum — an enduring emblem of resilience, architectural mastery, and collective memory. Only 50 numbered pieces are being released starting today, available solely in Italy through Gioielleria GRANDE boutiques and online.

The Eternal Magic of Rome

Some cities simply survive the centuries; Rome inhabits them. A place shaped by stone and sunlight, by contrasts and continuity, the Italian capital merges ancient magnificence with a singular modern pulse. Every street, every piazza, every landmark carries the trace of a history that never disappears — it evolves, adapts, and persists. At its core rises the Colosseum, a universal icon of strength, architecture, and memory. More than a monument, it represents an idea: beauty that endures.

This timeless yet dynamic spirit is what inspired the DOXA SUB 200 Grande Roma — the first special edition conceived specifically for Italy and born from the collaboration between DOXA and Gioielleria Grande. Over half a century after the SUB’s debut, enriched by a remarkable legacy, the emblematic model appears for the first time in a version dedicated to the Italian market. Today, the SUB 200 is revealed in its most refined interpretation: a model featuring an elegant gradient dial and a caseback engraved with Rome’s Colosseum.

Within DOXA’s lineup, the SUB 200 captures the brand’s vision of the quintessential dive watch. Drawing directly from the historic designs of the 1960s, it blends immediate readability, proven durability, and a distinctive aesthetic. Its 42 mm case, machined from a single block of premium 316L stainless steel and water-resistant to 200 meters, is topped with a domed, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment in a “glass box” style. A black unidirectional bezel and highly luminous markers ensure clarity in any environment.

Equipped with three hands and a date at 3 o’clock, the watch is driven by a dependable Swiss automatic movement offering approximately 38 hours of power reserve. It comes on the signature stainless steel “beads-of-rice” bracelet with folding clasp and diving extension, and includes an additional light brown textile NATO strap with a stainless steel pin buckle.
