Hermès Horloger unveiled the H08 Squelette
With its distinctive sporty character and contemporary urban identity, the Hermès H08 embodies a modern expression of masculine design. For 2026, the collection evolves through a new skeletonised interpretation that reveals the mechanical heart of the watch, creating an interplay between structure, material and transparency.
Hermès offers a fresh perspective on time, transforming the movement into a dynamic landscape of shifting reflections and shadow. Layers of transparency invite the eye to explore the architecture within, where every wheel, bridge and gear contributes to a mechanical composition that balances technical function with visual beauty. In this captivating display, the manufacture elevates the passing of time into a performance, uncovering the hidden poetry of its mechanism. Skeletonisation becomes more than a finishing technique; it emerges as a true form of expression.
Conceived in 2021 by Philippe Delhotal, Creative Director of Hermès Horloger, the H08 continues its journey through a silhouette that merges circular and cushion-shaped forms. This latest version places its finely crafted architecture at centre stage, allowing glimpses into normally concealed mechanical elements through the generous openings of its 39 mm case. The eye is naturally drawn through a network of suspended lines and moving components towards the new Manufacture Hermès H1978 S skeleton movement, which delivers a 60-hour power reserve.
The calibre’s layered construction encourages an exploration of the intricate mechanics of timekeeping. Sandblasted and sunburst-finished bridges and mainplate, crafted from PVD-treated titanium, create a sophisticated play of light while revealing the movement’s structural design. Power is supplied through an oscillating weight whose form echoes the distinctive geometry of the case itself.
The case is fashioned from satin-brushed titanium enhanced by a matte DLC treatment, giving it a robust and mineral-like character. Complementing this presence is a ceramic bezel with a sunburst satin-brushed finish, accentuated by polished bevels that catch and redirect the light. Together, these materials generate a subtle contrast between solidity and fluidity. Moulded from blocks of Super-LumiNova®, the numerals further enhance this graphic composition while reinforcing the watch’s strong visual identity.
The Hermès H08 Skeleton is paired with a textured rubber strap featuring a woven-effect pattern that mirrors the technical aesthetic of the watch. The blue edition can be worn on either a bleu Zanzibar or black strap, while the monochromatic grey version is offered with bleu abysse, dune or vert moyen strap options.
At Hermès, objects are conceived as lasting companions, shaped by exceptional craftsmanship and designed to bring practicality, purpose and surprise into daily life. Combining technical mastery with creative freedom, each creation carries an effortless sense of originality that transforms ordinary moments into memorable experiences.
For Hermès, time itself is also an object of creation. Rather than seeking to measure or control it, the house approaches time as an invitation to emotion, discovery and spontaneity. It becomes a space for pause and imagination, opening unexpected interludes that celebrate the richness of the present moment.
