Watches and Wonders – part IV
Carl F. Bucherer at Watches and Wonders 2021
Carl F. Bucherer is honoring its partnership with the Manta Trust, which fights for the preservation of the manta rays and their environment. The family-owned watch brand is launching Patravi ScubaTec Maldives. The Patravi ScubaTec Maldives is the fourth watch Carl F. Bucherer has launched in partnership with the Manta Trust since 2017. A portion of the proceeds from the sales of each model was donated to the foundation, and a contribution from the sale of the Patravi ScubaTec Maldives is specifically dedicated to the Manta Trust’s new floating research station project. This fourth watch has a 44.6 mm stainless-steel case and a unidirectional rotating stainless-steel bezel with blue and white ceramic inlays. A 60-minute scale with luminous markings makes it easy to calculate elapsed time underwater. The bright blue dial is ornated with a lacquered wave decoration.

The brand is also forging ahead with it sapphire odyssey, launching the Big Bang Integral Tourbillon Full Sapphire – a watch made for the Invisible Man: both a virtually scratch-proof sapphire crystal case and a matching integrated sapphire crystal bracelet. Only 30 pieces of this almost fully transparent watch, priced at around 350,000 euros.
