The new Perrelet timepieces
Blue and black are colours that are intimately associated with elegance. Whether it is an important meeting, a gala event, or simply for men who favour a classic look, blue and black are the perfect colours for a smart suit or a more relaxed sporty blazer. The care gone into selecting your outfit should be matched by the accessories complementing your look, especially when it comes to choosing a wristwatch.
In 2019, Perrelet, the high-end Swiss watchmaker, launched the “Weekend”collection, a line of men’s dress watches characterised by a refined round case of 39mm with a slim profile and silvered dials.
In 2020, Perrelet expands the collection with new blue and black dials offering discerning dressers an elegant, contemporary and versatile option.
Three new models join the current line-up of “Weekend” timepieces: a classic “3-Hands” with hours, minutes and central seconds; a “3-Hands Open Heart” with its view of the balance wheel, the beating heart of the movement; and a GMT model for globetrotters.
The “Weekend GMT” is a practical travelling companion offering the time in two different time zones at a glance.
Consulting local and home times is extremely simple thanks to the 24-hour scale and the intuitive layout. The 24-hour scale in the central section, composed of Arabic numerals and square markers, is indicated by a hand with a red triangular tip. The central ring is underscored with a lighter blue or black tone, ensuring that consulting home time while you’re travelling is effortless. Enhancing its user-friendliness, all the functions, including setting the GMT hand, are adjusted at the crown.
The new dials display an elegant satin-brushed finish further enhanced with a sunray decoration emanating from the centre of the dial. The central baton-style hour indices are applied to the dial. At 3, 6 and 9 o’clock, the indices feature double markers and are silver or gold-coloured, depending on the case. Protected
by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, the dials of the “Weekend 3 Hands” and “Weekend GMT” models also have a date window at 3 o’clock. Water-resistant to 50m, the case comes in steel and in PVD-coated steel to obtain a rich rose gold hue.
All the models in the “Weekend” collection are equipped with in-house, automatic calibres: P-401 for the “GMT”; P-321 for the “3-Hands”; and P-391 for the “3-Hands Open Heart”, all with a 42-hour power reserve. The case back has a transparent mineral glass to reveal the movement and the oscillations of its new full-metal rotor. The numerous finishings on the movement include vertical laser-engraved lines in the central part of the rotor – that evoke the sunray logo of the house – and a background decorated with horizontal stripes.
“Weekend 3-Hands, Open Heart and GMT” models are complemented with a black calfskin leather strap with an alligator print and a pin buckle. A more casual steel bracelet option is also available. Its comfortable and highly ergonomic bracelet is composed of 7 links per row with alternating satin and polished finishes.
