The main novelty at the Salon was the Submersible range from the Swiss brand with Italian design.
The existing Panerai Submersible models with 42 and 47 mm diameter were joined by a new case size version of 44 mm (as the name suggests – QuarantaQuatro).
Besides the essential characteristics of the collection that we can easily observe, one nice particularity for the new QuarantaQuattro is the unidirectional rotating bezel.
Inside the distinctive case back in the watchmaking world there is the automatic P.900 calibre presenting hours, minutes, small seconds, date indication and three days of power reserve.
What we also appreciate is the sustainability effort of Panerai to create eco-responsible timepieces.
Therefore, the watch brand presents the Submersible QuarantaQuattro eSTEEL™ collection. First question would be: what is this eSTEEL? Well, this is a new metal obtained from pre-consumer recycled steel scraps coming from different industries. Its production significantly reduces CO2 emissions.
And one could not possibly ignore the Luna Rossa new release, in a cool chromatic, very… Panerai style – the dial and the strap present marine-inspired colors, red, blue and white. With this new timepiece, Panerai celebrates the return of the brand as the Official Sponsor of the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team for the 37th America’s Cup. The watch comes in a limited edition of 1,500 pieces.
To sum up, the highlights of Panerai this year at Watches and Wonders were the new Submersible models: the Submersible QuarantaQuattro Carbotech™ Blu Abisso PAM01232, the Submersible QuarantaQuattro Bianco PAM01226 and the Submersible QuarantaQuattro PAM 01229 – each of these three having its own material and colour; Panerai Submersible 44mm watches in eSteel™ (Panerai Submersible QuarantaQuattro eSteel™ Verde Smeraldo PAM01287, Grigio Roccia PAM01288, Blu Profondo PAM01289) and Panerai Submersible QuarantaQuattro Luna Rossa PAM01391.
