The SIHH 2019 novelties from Audemars Piguet include new additions for the Haute Joaillerie, Royal Oak and Royal Oak Offshore collections.

Some models see technical advances with versions that now include a tourbillon or a double balance wheel, while others feature textured finishes or new materials, like aventurine, and grey ceramic. It all adds up to a wide variety of functions, finishes, gem-settings, materials and dial designs.

Royal Oak Offshore – Selfwinding Chronograph

Trailblazers
These 44 mm chronographs combine ceramic bezel, pushpieces and screwlocked crown, “Méga-Tapisserie” dial, robust rubber straps and water resistance to 100 m. Harder than steel, ceramic withstands high temperatures, thermal shocks, scratches and the passing years.

Colouring ceramic requires a complex research stage to find the right pigments, as well as a long and delicate manufacturing process. While the blue and green models feature a stainless steel case, the brown model is endowed with an 18-carat pink gold case that nicely sets off the bezel’s brown ceramic, used for the first time at Audemars Piguet.

Royal Oak – Frosted Gold Double Balance Wheel Openworked

Snow Rainbow
It has all the magic of sunlight refracted through the shimmering 18-carat Frosted Gold case and the bezel featuring 32 baguette-cut “rainbowcoloured” sapphires (2.24 carats), all individually cut. It’s a breath-taking setting for the rhodium-toned openworked dial and golden double balance wheel mechanism, visible on both sides of the watch. This Audemars Piguet patented innovation involves a complex fabrication procedure that improves the watch’s precision and stability. By incorporating two balance wheels and two hairsprings that are assembled on the same axis, the system oscillates in perfect synchrony.

Powerful Contrast
The 18-carat white gold case glittering with Frosted Gold provides a perfect frame for the artistry of intricate openworking. The golden double balance wheel mechanism, which improves the watch’s accuracy, enhances the anthracite openworked dial. This self-regulating organ is visible from both sides of the case and echoed by the pink gold applied hour-markers and luminescent hands.

Diamond Bezel, Body of Gold
To complement the white gold case and bracelet, the sparkling white gold bezel, set with 32 baguette-cut diamonds (2.85 carats) draws attention to the elegant anthracite openworked dial. Pride of place goes once again to the golden double balance wheel, visible from the front and back of the watch and echoed by the pink gold applied hour-markers and luminescent hands. This Audemars Piguet patented self-regulating mechanism improves accuracy, while enriching the openworked design.

Royal Oak – Selfwinding

Classic Reinterpretation
New subtle details make for an even more elegant and readable dial. The date window has been moved further from the centre while the indexes have been widened and the minute train printed on the satin-finished external area, not on the “Grande Tapisserie” pattern. This 41 mm model comes in steel with a choice of blue, slate grey or black dial. A pink gold model is also available with black dial and the option of pink gold bracelet or black alligator strap.

Universal Appeal
At 38 mm, this new size for the Royal Oak Selfwinding Chronograph is going to appeal to both men and women. Reducing the diameter of the case has called for a complete redesign of the “Grande Tapisserie” patterned dial to reinforce both readability and aesthetics. The 18-carat pink gold model comes with a silver dial and pink gold-toned counters or with silver-toned dial and counters. The stainless steel model is available with silver-toned dial and blue counters or with ruthenium-toned dial and rhodium-toned counters.

Royal Oak – Frosted Gold Selfwinding Chronograph

Frosted Purple
The frosted 18-carat white gold case and bracelet of this limited edition of 200 pieces, finished with polished chamfers, enhance the deep purple of the “Grande Tapisserie” dial. The rhodium-toned counters, gold applied hourmarkers and luminescent hands also illuminate the colour of the dial.

Royal Oak – Tourbillon Extra-Thin

Intensely Black
The intense blackness of this limited edition of 100 pieces gives elegance and refinement to the ceramic satin-finished and polished case, which is seven times harder than steel. The sunburst pattern of the “Tapisserie” dial radiates from the cage of the whirring tourbillon, which corrects the effects of gravity.

Over the Rainbow
The bezel is adorned by a rainbow of meticulously chosen and perfectly matched sapphires. The 18-carat pink gold case, pushpieces and screwlocked crown are echoed in the smoked pink gold-toned dial with “Lady Tapisserie” pattern and matching counters. The 37 mm model is enhanced by a beige rubber strap.

Royal Oak – Quartz

Diamond Impact
At a dainty 33 mm, these fully diamond-set Royal Oaks have maximum eye appeal. The dial is paved with 280 brilliant-cut diamonds (~1.70 carats) and 25 baguette-cut diamond hour-markers (~0.35 carat), while the case and bracelet dazzle with 896 brilliant-cut diamonds (~5.46 carats). Available in 18-carat white or pink gold.
